Shanghai, PRC – The Fourth Annual “Fred Tibbitts & Associates (FTA) “An Autumn Evening in Shanghai with Very Special Friends” proved a memorable event for the fortunate 75 invited guests to this FTA spectacular.

 

All guests at the reception, held at The Westin Bund Center Shanghai, were formally introduced and chimed upon arrival.  The reception and dinner boasted a literal “who’s who” from the Shanghai National Account hotel and restaurant community from every Renaissance Marriot to T.G.I. Friday’s and everything in between.

 

The four course dinner, prepared by Executive Chef Luke Elder and his culinary team was preceded by Loyalty Toasts by Peter Alatsas, General Manager, The Westin Bund Center Shanghai; John Northern, Chairman, Marriott Shanghai/Suzhou Business Council; Douglas Barber, General Manager, Sofitel Jin Jiang Oriental Pudong Shanghai; Stephen Young, Senior Vice President, International Development, Wyndham Worldwide; Martin Zhang, Restaurant Manager, T.G.I. Friday’s Shanghai; Ricky Xu, Editor, LifeStyle; Tommy Lam, President, Academy of Wine Singapore; Charing Wong, Manager, International Banking Center, Greater China Desk Shanghai, HSBC; Joan Remington, Associate Dean for Academic Programs, Florida International University; Jean Guo, Sales Representative for Hotel Channel, Pernod-Ricard China; and Cerentha Chow, Brand Development Manager, Moet Hennessy Diageo.

 

A US$500.00 donation from the proceeds of the dinner was presented by Charing Wong, Manager, International Banking Center, Greater China Desk Shanghai, HSBC to Stephen Young, Senior Vice President, International Development, Wyndham Worldwide on behalf of the Honorary Chairperson, Madame Annie S.K. Wu for the China Tibetan Health and Education Fund.

 

Andrew Jones, Guardian, Sanctuary Resorts (Hong Kong based) was named as the recipient of the 2007 FTA Hospitality Award for Excellence as a Humanitarian.  The Award and a US$5,000.00 scholarship to KELY Support Group (Kids Everywhere Like You), a non-profit organization that offers non-judgmental support for young people across Asia and for which Andrew Jones is Chairman Emeritus will be presented at the FTA Fall Dinner at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong on Thursday 18 October.
