Fred Tibbitts & Associates Second Annual
“An Autumn Evening in Hong Kong with Special Friends”

Some of the top Asia-Pacific chain hotel and restaurant operators, the Hong Kong Consular community, press and industry personalities gathered for cocktails and dinner at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong on Friday, 23 November to honor Madame Annie S.C. Wu, Chairman-Executive Committee, The Chinese History & Culture Educational Foundation for Youth.

 This was the second annual Fred Tibbitts & Associates “An Autumn Evening in Hong Kong with Special Friends” reception and dinner.  The evening began with the special presentation of a check to aid the less fortunate children of western China by some Hong Kong school children.  The check was gladly accepted by Edwin J. Judd, Area Representative for China and Mongolia, United Nations Children’s Fund.

The dinner began with both Christian and Buddhist graces, followed by a number of international toasts by the Hong Kong Consular officials as well several of the dinner personalities.

Professor Kaye Chon, Chair Professor and Head, School of Hotel & Tourism Management, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University presented Madame Wu with a certificate of recognition, followed by the presentation of the 2001 FTA Hospitality Award for Excellence as a Humanitarian to Madame Wu by Edwin J, Judd of UNICEF.  The Award included a $5,000.00 U.S. scholarship in Ms. Wu’s name for a deserving student at the Central University of Nationalities in Beijing.
